Mechanical manpower supply in the UAE

Complete mechanical crews for plant, pipework and fabrication scopes: welders, pipe fitters, fabricators, riggers and mechanical fitters under one supervisor.

Mechanical work is rarely one trade. A pipework scope needs fitters to prepare, welders to join, riggers to place and a supervisor to hold the sequence together, and the productivity of that crew depends on whether the roles were assembled as a unit or collected separately from different suppliers.

NSTC supplies mechanical manpower as crews rather than as individuals wherever the scope allows. The trades come from one roster, they have worked together, and one supervisor is accountable for the output.

Mechanical is also the discipline NSTC executes on its own contracting scopes, which means the trade tests behind these grades were written by people who run the same work rather than by a recruiter.

Trades in this discipline

Each trade below has its own page with grades, certification and what we verify before deployment.

TradeWhat they cover
WeldersTIG, MIG and arc welders tested to the welding procedure your project specifies, including pipe positions.
Pipe fittersTake-off, cutting, bevelling and fit-up worked directly from isometrics.
FabricatorsPipe spool and structural fabrication from shop drawings, with dimensional control.
RiggersThird-party certified lifting, slinging and load placement within the mechanical crew.
Mechanical fittersEquipment installation, alignment, coupling and mechanical assembly work.
Mechanical helpersMaterial handling, grinding and cleaning support that keeps skilled trades producing.
Mechanical supervisorsRun the crew from drawings, control sequence and hold the interface with your engineers.

How we build the crew

  • One supervisor is accountable for the crew output, rather than each trade reporting separately into your team.
  • Fitter and welder pairs stay together where the scope allows, because fit-up quality determines the weld repair rate.
  • Certified riggers are never substituted with uncertified workers to fill a headcount.
  • Trade tests mirror the actual work: a test piece for welders, a spool for fitters, a drawing for fabricators.
  • Documentation arrives before the crew does, so labour cards, health cards and qualification records are with your document control ahead of mobilisation.

Where mechanical crews deploy

Process plant piping

Refinery, gas and chemical pipework fitted and welded from isometrics under inspection hold points.

Fabrication yards

Spool and structural production where output is measured per shift and dimensional control decides rework.

Plant shutdowns

Surge crews for turnarounds, where the window is fixed and mobilisation speed is the whole value.

Equipment installation

Setting, aligning and connecting mechanical equipment, skids and packages onto foundations.

Tank and vessel work

Fabrication, erection and connection works around storage tanks and pressure vessels.

Utility and firewater systems

Cooling water, firewater and service systems on industrial and infrastructure projects.

How to request mechanical crews

1

Send the requirement

Trade, quantity, site, start date, duration and any certification you need.

2

We confirm

Availability, worker grades and commercial rates come back to you.

3

You approve

Review the profiles and issue a purchase order or letter of acceptance.

4

Crew mobilises

Workers arrive with documentation complete and a named crew lead as your contact.

Common questions

Can you supply a complete mechanical crew?
Yes, and it is what we recommend. A crew of fitters, welders, riggers and a supervisor arrives as a working unit with one point of accountability, rather than as individuals you have to organise into a sequence on site.
What welding qualifications do your welders hold?
Yes, or to the specific WPS your project uses. Qualification records come with the profiles before you accept anyone, and we arrange test pieces at your facility where you want to verify before mobilisation.
Do you supply mechanical crews for shutdowns?
Shutdown support is a significant part of our mechanical work. Shutdown dates are usually known well ahead, so tell us the window early and we hold the crew. Short-notice requirements should come by phone rather than the enquiry form.
Can NSTC take the mechanical scope instead of supplying labour?
Yes. Our technical contracting arm takes pipe fabrication, erection and installation scopes under your method statements. The commercial structure and risk allocation differ from manpower supply, so it is worth deciding which you want before asking for a price.
