A pipe fitter determines whether the welder can work. Fit-up, bevel angle, root gap and alignment are set before an arc is struck, and poor fit-up shows up as a repair rate at radiography that nobody can weld their way out of.

NSTC tests pipe fitters on a practical spool: isometric reading, measurement, cutting, bevelling, fit-up and tacking. We grade on whether they can take an isometric and produce a correct spool without supervision.

Fitters and welders work as pairs on most of our scopes, so we supply them together rather than leaving you to match a fitter to a welder from two different sources.

Grades and roles we supply

What we verify before deployment

Practical spool test, covering isometric reading, take-off, measurement, cutting, bevel angle and root gap.
Dimensional accuracy check against the isometric, because a spool that is out of tolerance is scrap, not rework.
Valid UAE labour card and health card, plus a site safety card where the project requires one.
Material identification discipline, so carbon and stainless are not cross-contaminated by shared tooling.
Grinding and cutting tool competence, including guard use and the abrasive wheel discipline that industrial sites audit.

Common questions

Can your pipe fitters work from isometrics unsupervised?

That is exactly what we grade them on. The practical test is an isometric, a length of pipe and a required spool. Fitters who can produce it correctly are listed as isometric fitters; those who need direction are graded lower and priced accordingly.

Do you supply fitters and welders as pairs?

Yes, and we recommend it. Fit-up quality determines weld repair rate, so a fitter and welder who work together consistently produce better results than two people matched on site from different suppliers.

What pipe sizes and materials do your fitters handle?

Carbon steel, stainless steel and, where the scope requires it, duplex. Sizes from small-bore instrument and utility lines up to large-diameter process and chilled water pipework. Tell us the range and we match the grade.

Do you supply grinding and cutting equipment?

On manpower supply, power tools, consumables and PPE are normally the client scope. Where you prefer us to bring tooling, that becomes a contracting enquiry and we price it separately.
