Skilled mason supply in the UAE

Block masons, plasterers and tilers supplied to building contractors across the UAE, graded on line, level and finish quality rather than claimed experience.

Masonry is judged by the finishing trades that follow it. Blockwork out of plumb, or plaster out of line, shows up as rework in the tiling, painting and joinery that come after, so the cheapest mason is rarely the cheapest outcome.

NSTC supplies masons individually and as gangs with their own chargehand. We assess on a physical sample: a section of blockwork or a plastered panel, checked for line, level, plumb, joint consistency and finish.

Masonry gangs commonly work alongside our general labour for material distribution and mixing, which keeps the skilled trade producing rather than carrying.

Grades and roles we supply

RoleWhat the grade covers
Masonry supervisorRuns multiple gangs, sets out from architectural drawings, controls quality and handles consultant inspection.
Chargehand masonLeads a gang, sets out walls and openings from drawings and checks line and plumb before the gang moves on.
Block masonBlockwork and brickwork to line and level, including openings, lintels, reinforcement and movement joints.
PlastererInternal and external rendering and plastering, corner beads, bands and fair-faced finishes ready for paint.
TilerFloor and wall tiling, including setting out, cutting, levels, falls in wet areas and grouting to finish.
Mason helperMixing, material distribution, scaffolding assistance and housekeeping so the skilled trade keeps producing.

What we verify before deployment

  • Sample panel assessment, a section of blockwork or plaster checked for line, level, plumb, joint consistency and finish.
  • Setting-out test, since a mason who cannot set out an opening from a drawing will generate rework for every trade after them.
  • Valid UAE labour card and health card, plus a site safety card where the project requires one.
  • Working at height awareness for blockwork above the working level and external rendering from scaffold.
  • Material handling and mixing competence, including correct mortar and render mix ratios.

Common questions

Do you supply masons as gangs or individually?
Both, though gangs are more common. A gang with a chargehand and helpers arrives as a working unit with its own material handling, which produces more per skilled worker than the same number of individual masons arranged on site.
How do you test masons before deployment?
With a physical sample. A mason builds a section of blockwork or plasters a panel, and we check line, level, plumb, joint consistency and finish. A CV tells you nothing useful about a mason; a sample panel tells you everything.
Can you supply plasterers and tilers separately from block masons?
Yes. These are distinct skills and we grade them separately. Many clients take block masons during the structure phase and plasterers and tilers later as the finishing programme starts.
Do masons come with helpers?
They can, and it is usually worth it. Mixing and material distribution done by helpers keeps the skilled mason laying rather than carrying, which changes the output per day noticeably on a multi-storey programme.
